The traineeships will be held within the Erasmus+ Traineeship programme with the possibility to stay for 3-6 months and a hybrid setup. Starting in June/July, we are offering 3 Erasmus+ Traineeships in the positions of:
- Marketing & Communications
- Board Game Marketing
- Graphic Designer / Illustrator (Board Game)
Who is eligible:
To apply you need to be:
- A Master student (or have graduated less than 6 months ago)
- From a non-German university
- Have not consumed your Erasmus+ Traineeship budget yet
Qualities we cherish

Role Descriptions:
Marketing & Communications Intern
Help us turn Atacama’s projects, events, and ideas into clear, engaging communication. We are looking for a creative, hands-on Marketing & Communications Intern to support content creation, storytelling, and day-to-day communication across multiple channels. You will contribute to real projects, such as a cycling tour event and other impact-driven activities, while also collaborating with the team working on the ReLeaf board game. Your main mission will be to help ensure our communication is active, engaging, and visible, supporting both ongoing initiatives and new campaigns. You will work closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager and the wider Atacama team.
Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of ongoing marketing and communication activities, including content planning and publishing across projects
- Create and manage content across channels, including social media (LinkedIn, Instagram), newsletters, website updates, and project communication
- Helping shape and share the story of our cycling tour event, from preparation to live updates and follow-up content
- Support outreach to partners, communities, and networks, help increase visibility of projects through collaborations and external channels
- Collaborate with other team members across projects, including alignment with the ReLeaf board game campaign
Requirements:
- Being enrolled in or having recently graduated from a Masters in, e.g., Marketing, Communications, Social Media, Social Sciences, Management, or similar
- Experience or strong interest with social media tools, Adobe Creative Cloud, content strategy & analytics
- Creative, proactive mindset with strong English communication skills and an eye for visual storytelling and design
- Interest in sustainability, regeneration, or purpose-driven work is beneficial
Board Game Marketing
Help us bring Atacama’s first board game, ReLeaf, to life. We are looking for a creative, hands-on Marketing & Communications Intern to support our community building, playtesting communication, marketing channels, storytelling, visuals, and Kickstarter preparation. Your main mission will be to help us build an engaged community and support a successful Kickstarter launch that turns ReLeaf from an idea into a real product. You will work closely with our Marketing & Communications Manager, the ReLeaf project owner, and the wider Atacama team.
Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and execution of the ReLeaf Kickstarter campaign, including pre-launch communication, campaign updates, and launch preparation
- Create and manage content for social media, newsletters, website updates, community posts, and project communication
- Build and grow the ReLeaf community across channels such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Discord, WhatsApp, and email
- Help organize and communicate with playtesters, supporters, creators, reviewers, and potential partners
- Support the development of ReLeaf’s brand story, target personas, campaign messaging, visual assets, and basic marketing performance insights
Requirements:
- Being enrolled in or having recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Design, Business, Game Design, or similar
- Experience or strong interest in marketing, communication, content creation, community building, social media, or campaign management
- Strong passion for board games, tabletop games, gaming communities, Kickstarter projects, or creative product launches
- Creative, proactive mindset with strong English communication skills and an eye for visual storytelling, design, sustainability, and purpose-driven projects
Graphic Designer / Illustrator (Board Game)
Help us bring ReLeaf, Atacama’s board game, to life through visual storytelling. We are looking for a creative Graphic Designer / Illustrator to shape the visual world, identity, and player experience of the game. You will work on everything from early concepts to final assets and create illustrations, layouts, and design elements that make the game both engaging and meaningful. Your main mission will be to translate ideas clear, compelling, and interactive visuals that players connect with. You will collaborate closely with the ReLeaf game development team as well as marketing & communications to ensure visual consistency across both the game and its campaign.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the visual style and identity of the board game
- Create illustrations and graphic assets (cards, board layout, icons, packaging, and supporting materials)
- Translate game mechanics into visual elements to ensure clarity, usability, and player experience
- Collaborate on storytelling and world-building to help bring concepts, systems, and narratives into a visual form
- Create visual campaign assets for Kickstarter, social media, and promotional materials
Requirements:
- Being enrolled in or having recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in e.g. Graphic Design, Illustration, Visual Communication, Game Design, or similar
- Strong skills in illustration, layout, and visual storytelling, and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar
- Ability to translate abstract ideas into clear visuals
- Interest in board games, game design, or interactive experiences
- Creative and collaborative mindset with attention to detail and usability
- Interest in regeneration, sustainability, or purpose-driven work is beneficial
