ArianeGroup GmbH in Bremen is offering an ‘Internship and Masterthesis (d/f/m) in the Area of Large Language Model (LLM) for automation of production processes’ for the department ‘Production Engineering’ starting 15.11.2026.

Your main tasks and activities:

  • 3-months voluntary Internship: The task is to develop use case of LLM model towards automation and optimization of the cognitive - data transfer involving identification, selection and filtering tasks in production engineering. Student is required to produce a use-case tool for the production department through the application of LLMs. The tool development will involve training of the LLM model through the process of tokenization, transformation of the variables of integration, assembly at the production department. The internship is intended to prepare students for their thesis.
  • Thesis: The task is to research multiple use case of LLM model towards automation and optimization of the tasks thereby realizing optimal use case of LLM for production procedures. To systematically analyze the automation tool development which involves training of the LLM model through the process of tokenization, transformation of the variables of integration and assembly at the production department. Also, to document the error studies and limitation of the tool developed with LLM for the production department.
  • The outcome of the combined thesis and internship is optimal tool with capability for automation of atleast one production procedure and then documentation with error studies.

You have the following qualifications:

  • You are a fulltime enrolled masters student (d/f/m) within AI, Machine Learning etc. with a background in Production/Mechanical/Aerospace (BA) or related studies.
  • You have experience with Coding (Python, MACRO), Large Language Models (LLM), Machine Learning techniques.
  • You have experience with Servers handling capacity or knowledge.
  • First project experience would be beneficial.
  • First experience with automation processes.
  • You are fluent in English.

This site, located on the outskirts of the Hanseatic city of Bremen in north-west Germany, has specialised in the development and manufacture of the upper stage of the Ariane launchers since the start of the programme.
