We are now looking for a student to join our operations team in Hamburg.

Role Overview

This role combines hands-on mechanical and robotics engineering, system integration, and structured handling of engineering and test data in real industrial applications.

What you will do:

Engineering & Robotics Systems

  • Support the development of machining and repair systems
  • Assist with mechanical setup, alignment, tooling concepts, and robotic system integration
  • Support testing, validation, and commissioning of mechanical and robotic equipment in an engineering environment

Engineering Data Management & Analysis

  • Collect, structure, and maintain engineering and test data (e.g. process parameters, test results, cycle times, deviations)
  • Support data traceability for system configurations, test runs, and validation activities
  • Assist in reviewing and interpreting technical data to improve process stability, quality, and system performance

System Integration & Documentation

  • Support integration of mechanical, robotic, and automation systems
  • Assist in defining system layouts, interfaces, and engineering workflows
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, setup procedures, and validation reports
  • Maintain structured documentation and datasets in SharePoint / Teams

Note on Scope & Flexibility

  • The specific tasks and technical topics may vary depending on project phase, development priorities, and company requirements.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Enrolled BSc or MSc student in a relevant degree such as: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Industrial / Production Engineering
  • Strong interest in engineering, robotics, and mechanical systems

Technical Skills (Student Level Expected)

  • Basic knowledge of CAD software used in robotics and mechanical engineering, such as: SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, Autodesk Inventor
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, machining, or manufacturing processes
  • Interest in structured handling of engineering data and documentation
  • Exposure or interest in automation, robotics, or PLC/robot programming (nice to have)
  • Structured, reliable, and safety-oriented working style
  • Good English skills (German is a plus)

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
