This position can be filled from October 2024 for a period of up to 6 months.

Motivation and Background

The use of fast-switching power modules in the electric drivetrain of an electric vehicle generates undesirable parasitic effects in the system. These can negatively affect electromagnetic compatibility as well as the service life of the bearing. In a thesis, the influence of various components will be analyzed using a simulation model and compared with measurements.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Familiarization with the topics of "electric drive technology" and "electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)"
  • Literature research on the topic "EMC Simulation in drive technology"
  • Modeling and extension of an electric system model to simulated conducted emissions
  • Conducting and evaluating sensitivity studies
  • Analysis of the overall system based on the system simulation model
  • Documentation and presentation of the results

Your Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a comparable field of study
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • Good knowledge of MATLAB
  • Knowledge of LTspice is desirable
  • Good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Initiative and structured approach
