Your Role
As a Private Equity Intern at Carbyne, you will work closely with our investment team and gain hands-on exposure to the full private equity investment lifecycle. From day one, you will support live transactions, portfolio work, and thematic research, while developing a strong understanding of how investment decisions are made in practice.
In this role, you will:
· Lead a defined long-term project throughout the internship; taking ownership of the workstream, coordinating inputs, and driving progress under the guidance of the investment team
· Support the evaluation of potential investments across all stages of the investment process, from initial screening to execution
· Assist in building and reviewing financial models, business cases, and valuation analyses
· Prepare market and competitive analyses, including industry research and company benchmarking
· Support commercial and financial due diligence workstreams
· Contribute to portfolio company development with research and business analyses
· Work closely with investment team members in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual with a strong interest in private equity and investing. The position is open starting in Q4 2026.
The ideal candidate will have:
· A strong academic background, preferably in business, economics, finance, or a related field, and be in the penultimate year of study or have recently completed a degree
· First practical experience through internships or working student roles, ideally in private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting, transaction services, or corporate finance
· Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial statements
· Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; prior exposure to financial modelling is preferred
· Strong attention to detail and a structured, proactive working style
· Fluency in English and German; other European languages are a plus
· A high level of motivation, curiosity, and willingness to learn
· Ability to integrating AI tools in your daily workflow
