Our team at the BMW Group is dedicated to advancing the next generation of power electronics for electric vehicles. We focus on model-based design and innovative simulation technologies, offering you the opportunity to support the development of the latest BMW electric driving modular architecture through your internship.
What awaits you?
- You will support preparing the HiL platform to run simulations from the PLECS simulation software.
- Furthermore, you help adapt simulation models based on existing BMW models not yet supported by the HiL platform.
- In addition, you contribute to connecting an embedded processor to the HiL platform for simulation model control.
- Moreover, you will assist in identifying and implementing automation opportunities within the development process.
- You also help improve current models and contribute to developing the latest electrical driving modular kit.
- Furthermore, you will support collaboration with simulation teams across the architecture.
- Additionally, you get involved in hardware and software aspects of the overall electrical driving modular kit development.
- Studies in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field.
- Experience in power electronics and power conversion topologies or electrical circuits.
- Experience with the simulation software PLECS.
- Knowledge of power conversion topologies.
- Experience in model-based design and HiL platforms is a plus.
- Experience with version control and Python programming is a bonus.
- Good command of English and German.

Intern Power Electronics and Simulation Technologies (f/m/x)
Wichtiges für Werkstudierende
Was dieses Praktikum im Bereich Ingenieurwesen in Munich für dich bedeutet — Vergütungsregeln, Sozialabgaben und worauf internationale Studierende achten sollten.
Wochenstunden
Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.
Werkstudenten-RegelnSozialabgaben
Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.
Versicherung prüfenInternationale Studierende
Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
