Description provided by SGNL Music Group

Company Description SGNL Music Group is a record label dedicated to shaping the future sound of dance music through forward-thinking artists and releases. The label focuses on long-term artist development, helping talent grow sustainably rather than chasing short-term trends. SGNL Music Group places strong emphasis on community, fostering collaboration among artists, producers, and music professionals. Team members are encouraged to contribute fresh ideas, discover emerging sounds, and support the label’s vision for innovative, culturally relevant dance music.

Role Description

The Junior A&R Scout (Intern) role is a remote internship focused on identifying and evaluating new talent in the dance music space. Day-to-day tasks include researching emerging artists, playlists, and scenes, reviewing demos and unreleased tracks, and preparing concise feedback or recommendations for the A&R team. The intern will track promising artists, maintain organized records and scouting reports, and assist with communication and follow-up when the team shows interest in new talent. The role may also involve monitoring social media and streaming trends, contributing to internal tastemaker lists, and supporting basic administrative tasks related to A&R workflows.

Qualifications

  • Strong music discovery skills, with a deep interest in dance/electronic music and awareness of current and emerging trends.
  • Ability to research artists and scenes independently, organize findings, and present clear, objective scouting notes.
  • Solid communication skills, including concise written feedback and professional online correspondence.
  • Comfort using streaming platforms, social media, and music discovery tools to identify and evaluate new talent.
  • High attention to detail, reliable time management, and the ability to meet deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Collaborative mindset, openness to feedback, and enthusiasm for contributing to a community-focused record label.
  • Prior experience in A&R, music blogging, DJing, or artist management is helpful but not required.
  • Availability to commit consistent hours each week during the internship period.
  • Previous A&R Experience is a bonus
