Description provided by Seven Senders
At Seven Senders, we connect people and markets, making international shipping simple.
We are Europe’s leading platform for cross-border parcel delivery, supporting e-commerce companies in scaling internationally and reaching millions of consumers across borders. By combining cutting-edge technology with strong local carrier networks, we ensure parcels move efficiently from warehouse to doorstep — whether speed or cost efficiency is the priority.
Founded in Berlin in 2015, Seven Senders has grown into a team of 200+ logistics and tech experts. Today, we proudly work with clients such as Flaconi, Shop Apotheke, and Tamaris, shaping the future of European delivery together.
Job Description
Our Finance team ensures accurate accounting, tax compliance and transparent financial reporting across the Seven Senders group. To support our continued growth, we are expanding our Accounting team (consisting of a Team Lead, AR, AP and GL Accountants) with a Working Student Accounting. In this role, you will primarily support accounts payable and the monthly closing process. You will report to our Senior GL Accountant and work closely with our AP Accountant on a daily basis.
The Accounting team is part of a wider Finance function of colleagues across Accounting, Controlling and Compliance, who collaborate closely as one team. Many of the tasks in this role are recurring, so we are looking for someone who carries them out reliably and accurately while actively looking for ways to improve them. You bring a genuine interest in automation and process improvement, along with a strong willingness to learn.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Register and process incoming supplier invoices in our accounting system, follow up on missing approvals
- Process employee expense claims submitted via our expense tool and check them against our travel and expense policy
- Maintain the accounts payable subledger, including vendor master data and open-item clearing
- Support the monthly closing with general ledger account reconciliations and preparation of recurring postings
- Take on ad-hoc tasks, including selected accounts receivable work such as allocating incoming payments, and help us improve and automate our accounting processes
Qualifications
This is what you need to succeed:
- You are enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field, and can work up to 20 hours per week during the semester
- You have a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping from coursework or practical experience. First hands-on experience, such as an internship, a previous working student role or a commercial apprenticeship, is a plus but not a must
- You are confident in Excel. Experience with an ERP system is a plus
- You work accurately, in a structured way and reliably, also on recurring tasks. You learn quickly and enjoy finding ways to make processes simpler or more automated
- You speak fluent English. German skills are a plus
