Description provided by secunet Security Networks AG
Join secunet’s research and technology innovation team at the earliest opportunity. Within our core technology field of Secure and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence, you will help explore how to build secure and trustworthy AI infrastructures and services—and demonstrate that they meet defined security and reliability requirements. Our focus is on large language models (LLMs) and AI agents.
Your Tasks
You will contribute to research and development projects, explore new ideas and learn from experienced colleagues. Depending on your interests and experience, your responsibilities will include:
- Investigating security and assurance methods for LLMs and AI agents, including guardrails, runtime verification, sandboxing, prompt injection mitigation, formal methods and agent identities
- Evaluating emerging technologies and developing approaches to assess and substantiate their security and reliability
- Building prototypes to assess feasibility and test assumptions
- Contributing to research projects with academic and technology partners
- Helping transfer promising research results into our product and service units
- Documenting findings and contributing to security guidelines and reference architectures
You will work with NixOS as our Linux operating system, Rust for the components we develop, Nix for declarative builds and dependency management, and GitLab as our development platform.
Your Profile
- You are currently enrolled in a master’s programme in computer science or a related field
- You have practical programming experience and are keen to learn our technology stack
- You are interested in research at the intersection of AI, systems security and assurance
- You enjoy exploring emerging technologies and approaching new challenges with curiosity
- You work independently and systematically and enjoy collaborating with others
- You are proficient in English; German language skills are a plus
- Ideally, you have hands-on experience with LLM systems, Rust, Linux, Nix or Kubernetes
- An understanding of IT security, software verification or systematic testing would be an advantage
