Description provided by Routine Labs

Routine Labs is a Berlin-based AI startup building automation infrastructure for regulated industries.

We combine LLM-based workflow generation with deterministic execution in production. The result is automation that is testable, auditable and reliable rather than a black box.

Our first focus is healthcare, but our ambition is broader: building the foundation for how automation can scale reliably across complex IT environments.

We are a funded early-stage startup, built by a team with experience in starting and scaling companies.

We are hiring for this position as either a Working Student or an Intern, depending on your availability.

  • Working Students can start immediately

  • Interns would typically join in the summer

  • Working Student hours: 16–20 hours per week during the semester

  • During semester breaks, there is the option to increase to up to 40 hours per week

You will work closely with the leadership team at the intersection of market analysis, strategy and data-driven decision-making.

Tasks

Strategic Execution & Founder Support

  • Work directly with the founders on high-priority topics across product, GTM, and operations

  • Take ownership of ambiguous problems and turn them into structured analyses and actionable outcomes

  • Support cross-functional initiatives (e.g. new market entry, partnerships, pricing strategy, internal tooling)

  • Act as a force multiplier by driving topics forward independently and closing loops

Go-To-Market & Validation

  • Design and run market validation experiments (e.g. outreach campaigns, landing pages, pilot offers)

  • Support outbound efforts (LinkedIn, email, partnerships) including messaging, targeting, and iteration

  • Build and refine ICP-specific narratives and value propositions

  • Analyse experiment results and derive clear recommendations on where to double down or pivot

  • Support early sales processes (lead qualification, preparation of materials, follow-ups)

Internal Automation & Operational Efficiency

  • Identify repetitive internal workflows and help automate them to improve speed and efficiency across the company

  • Work with tools such as Claude Code, n8n, and other AI or automation systems to build practical internal solutions

  • Support the setup and improvement of internal processes for research, outreach, reporting, and knowledge management

Market Research

  • Analyse and break down target markets

  • Identify, cluster, and prioritise ICPs based on pain intensity, willingness to pay, and accessibility

  • Map and evaluate competitors across RPA, AI automation, and vertical solutions

  • Conduct pricing and packaging analyses to understand market benchmarks and positioning

  • Track regulatory and structural developments (e.g. compliance requirements, data constraints, industry shifts) and translate them into product and GTM implications

Requirements

You:

  • Have some initial experience in a startup, consulting, venture capital, or similar fast-paced environment

  • Can independently research markets, ICPs, competitors, and customer pain points

  • Have a strong understanding of business models, markets, and how companies grow

  • Have a strong bias towards execution and move topics forward without needing constant guidance

  • Have a strong interest in AI, automation, and how technology can improve workflows

  • Ask questions like: Where is the real leverage? What actually moves the needle?

Bonus

  • Experience with market research, GTM experiments, or early-stage sales/outreach

  • High experience with tools like n8n or claude code

  • Exposure to consulting, venture capital or strategy

  • First touchpoints with regulated industries

  • Experience working closely with founders or in early-stage environments

Benefits

  • Direct collaboration with the founder team

  • Real responsibility on strategic topics

  • Flat hierarchies and fast decision-making

  • The chance to learn in one year what often takes several elsewhere

  • Real ownership from day one

  • Hands-on experience building an AI startup

Join the team shaping the strategic and analytical foundation of a company redefining how legacy software gets automated.

We value diverse perspectives and welcome applicants of all genders, identities and backgrounds.
