Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated working student to join our dynamic Nokia Ulm 5G Verification Lab team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the setup, configuration, and maintenance of our lab equipment, including 5G base stations and related devices. Your contributions will ensure the lab's readiness for testing activities and help us stay at the forefront of 5G mobile network advancements. As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights and hands-on experience in this rapidly evolving field.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of lab equipment, including 5G base stations, mobile devices/UEs, routers, and gateways.
  • Perform basic hardware troubleshooting to maintain lab equipment functionality and readiness for 5G testing.
  • Assist in managing lab inventory, tracking assets, and updating confluence pages/documents to ensure efficient resource management.
  • Collaborate with the lab team to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient lab environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Stay updated on the latest 5G technology advancements and share knowledge with the team, contributing to our collective expertise.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing regular updates on lab progress and testing activities.
  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and record-keeping for lab testing, ensuring accurate and organized documentation.
  • Support the development and implementation of lab procedures and best practices, contributing to our team's efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development, staying motivated and eager to explore new aspects of 5G technology.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field (Ulm region preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of IT/Network Equipment Maintenance is essential, with a willingness to support lab maintenance tasks and a desire to learn more.
  • Testing or HW/Network maintenance experience is an asset, but not mandatory; a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn are key.
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Availability for at least six months, with the possibility of extension for a longer-term engagement, demonstrating commitment and dedication.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate record-keeping, asset management, and a well-maintained lab environment.
  • A passion for technology, a willingness to stay updated on industry trends, and a desire to contribute to the advancement of 5G mobile networks.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a dynamic and diverse team.
  • Flexibility to accommodate working hours that align with your studies, ensuring a balanced and productive work-study experience with the need to be onsite quite regularly.
