Description provided by Munich Re

The Subtower 1.1.1 Governance / Legal Framework within Munich Re`s internal IT provider 'Group Technology' ensures compliance with the global IT governance framework and alignment with the IT Strategy (with regards to given law and regulatory obligations, such as DORA, Solvency II, MaGo and VAG). The team designs and maintains selected governance elements for the global IT organization and accompany their implementation. Additionally, the unit is responsible for the steering of the legal organisation of Group Technology and the IT contract framework between group companies who outsource their full IT to Group Technology.

Your Job

  • Help team members develop and organize essential governance documents and processes. This includes things like our Governance Policy, how the IT department is structured, key rules and procedures, and managing IT relationships.
  • Create clear and professional presentation materials, mainly PowerPoint slides, to explain governance concepts and designs to managers for their approval and feedback.
  • Assist with the roll-out of standardized IT governance frameworks across our global Shared Service Organizations, helping to ensure consistent implementation in different countries.
  • Plan, organize, and even lead training sessions or presentations to share knowledge about IT Governance within the company.
  • Support ongoing governance-related projects, such as tracking legal changes that affect IT policies.
  • Help write important guidelines, work instructions, and process documents that comply with legal and company standards.
  • Communicate regularly with a diverse group of stakeholders involved in IT governance, including workforce management, onboarding teams, relationship managers, and managers within our global Shared Service Organizations.

Your Profile

  • You are currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Business Informatics (with a clear business focus, not purely technical), Business Economics, Business Law, Risk Management, Compliance or related interdisciplinary programs that combine business, law, and risk perspectives.
  • You possess strong analytical and conceptual skills with an emphasis on applying them to real-world challenges in governance, compliance, or risk contexts.
  • You have a proactive, reliable, and collaborative working style, comfortable communicating with diverse stakeholders both inside and outside the team.
  • You demonstrate advanced practical skills in Microsoft Office 365, with a particular focus on creating high-quality, structured, and impactful presentations in PowerPoint, essential for presenting governance concepts clearly to management. Expertise in Excel for data handling and analysis supports your role.
  • You are fluent in English, the primary working language, and have German language skills at level B2 or above to engage effectively in a bilingual corporate environment.
  • Practical experience in consulting, risk management, IT compliance, or corporate governance frameworks is a strong advantage and will help you quickly understand the organizational and regulatory environment in which we operate.

Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit. The first master's degree may not have been completed before/during the entire internship.
