Description provided by Lund Consulting
Your responsibilities
At Lund Consulting, you'll work alongside our senior consultants and managers to run technology projects for asset managers and insurers. These include data platform builds, regulatory reporting overhauls, and automation initiatives. Projects like these succeed or fail on two things: understanding what the business actually needs, and keeping delivery on track. You'll support both, along with the numbers underneath them. You'll help plan and steer the project, capture requirements in workshops with client teams, build and maintain financial models, and reconcile data so that decisions rest on figures everyone trusts.
What you will be doing
- Project Management Support: You'll help maintain project plans, milestones, and task boards, and track progress against plan. You'll prepare status reports and steering-committee materials, keep risk and issue logs up to date, and follow up on open actions so project leads always have an accurate picture.
- Business Requirements & Stakeholder Work: You'll join engagements with client business units, document requirements and processes, and translate business needs into clear input for our technical team. You'll also prepare agendas and minutes and coordinate follow-ups across the client and project team.
- Financial Modelling & Reconciliation: You'll build and maintain financial models in Excel, such as business cases, cost and benefit projections, and forecasts. You'll also reconcile financial and operational data across sources and systems, investigate breaks, and document their root causes.
- Client Deliverables: You'll build storylines and slides for workshops and management presentations, and present your own work to client stakeholders.
------------------
Your profile
- Relevant Experience: You bring previous practical experience in consulting, project management, corporate finance, or a similar field.
- Organized Way of Working: You turn discussions into clear minutes, concise status updates, and well-structured slides.
- Comfort With Numbers: You work confidently with figures and have the attention to detail to track down why two numbers don't match.
- Tools: You are proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with project management tools or coding is a plus.
- Stakeholder Exposure: Experience working directly with stakeholders, either externally with clients or internally across teams, is a big plus.
- AI Usage: Hands-on experience using AI tools in your work or studies, for example for research, analysis, drafting, or automation, is a big plus.
- Academic Background: You are a current student or recent graduate; your field of study is secondary.
- Languages: You are fluent in English. German proficiency is a big plus.
- Availability: You are available for a 5 to 6-month, full-time internship in Munich (up to 20% remote), starting November 2026.
------------------
Why us?
What we offer
- Real Project Responsibility: From day one, you work on live client engagements alongside project leadership and see how projects are actually steered.
- A View Into the Technology: You work side by side with our data and technology team, so you learn how solutions are built, not just planned.
- Mentorship: You get a dedicated buddy for day-to-day questions and an experienced consultant as your counselor. You'll receive structured feedback at the midpoint and end of your internship.
- Learning & Development: You get onboarding training, access to our internal methodology and tooling library, and targeted upskilling in project management, financial modelling, financial-services domain knowledge, and AI.
- Career Path: Strong performers are considered for a follow-on working-student role, a thesis collaboration, or a full-time offer after graduation.
- Team Culture: Flat hierarchies, an open-door culture, and regular team events, office socials, and firm-wide networking formats.
