Das Globalvorhaben „Zentren für Migration und Entwicklung“ ist Teil der Gruppe Flucht, Migration und Rückkehr im Bereich Sektor- und Globalvorhaben. Im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) sollen die Zentren eine sichere und reguläre Migration mitgestalten, von der alle Seiten profitieren: Eingebettet in die Strukturen der Partnerländer beraten sie Menschen zu regulärer Arbeits- oder Ausbildungsmigration und unterstützen gleichzeitig Rückkehrende aus Deutschland und anderen Staaten dabei, sich wieder in ihrem Herkunftsland gesellschaftlich und wirtschaftlich zu integrieren. So sollen die Zentren die Partnerstrukturen in die Lage versetzen, Menschen in allen Phasen des Migrationszyklus zu unterstützen.
