Das Vorhaben „Skalierung von digitalen Agrarinnovationen durch Start-ups“ (SAIS) fördert im Auftrag des deutschen Bundesministeriums für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) und kofinanziert von der Gates Foundation afrikanische Start-ups im Agrar- und Ernährungsbereich. Ziel des Vorhabens ist es, die Attraktivität ausgewählter Start-ups für Investoren und Geschäftspartner zu steigern und Zugang zu Kapital zu vermitteln. Dies geschieht im Rahmen eines jährlich stattfindenden Förderprogramms (Investment Readiness Programme) unter anderem durch Mentoring, Training und Kontaktvermittlung. Auf diese Weise sollen die Start-ups dabei unterstützt werden eine größere Zahl von Nutzer*innen zu erreichen und zu wachsen.
