Description provided by European Energy Exchange AG

Your tasks:

As a working student, you will become an integral part of our Purchasing and Contract Management team and gain valuable insights into procurement and contract processes within an international organization. Your responsibilities will include supporting the administration and management of contracts for EEX AG and ECC AG, helping to ensure transparency and efficiency throughout the contract lifecycle. Working with our contract management database, you will independently prepare recurring reports and ad hoc analyses that provide valuable insights and support internal communication and decision-making. In addition, you will contribute to a variety of project-related tasks within our group-wide procurement function and support the continuous development of purchasing processes and tools. This role offers the opportunity to take on responsibility from day one, collaborate with colleagues across different departments, and develop both your analytical and organizational skills in a profession. After all, we value the exchange of ideas, being there for each other and encouraging each other to become better. We call it: the exchange mindset.

You bring along:

  • Currently enrolled at a university, university of applied sciences, or technical university, ideally studying Business Administration, Law, or a comparable field
  • Availability to work 18-20 hours per week on 3 days per week in addition to your current studies
  • Availability to work as working student for at lest 3 semester or longer
  • Availability to join the team on site in the office in Leipzig for work on a regular basis
  • First working experience, being confident in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong organizational skills, a reliable way of working, and enjoy collaborating with others
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in both German and English are a must have

Why join us?

  • An attractive hourly wage (15€/h during Bachelor, 16€/h during Master)
  • A good work-life balance thanks to flexible working hours
  • Flexible mobile working arrangements in Germany and abroad (according to our current mobile working abroad agreement for students)
  • Subsidy for EGYM Well Pass membership and mobile working (internet usage)
  • A place in a dynamic and international team within the EEX Group and Group Deutsche Börse
  • A perspective in the constantly growing and developing energy industry

Working student essentials

What this Operations working student role in Leipzig means for you: the weekly-hours rules, the social-contribution perks, and what international students should check before applying.

Weekly hours

Working students may work up to 20 hours a week during the semester and full-time during the breaks. Staying within this keeps your student status and the Werkstudent benefits.

Working student rules

Social contributions

Under the Werkstudentenprivileg you're exempt from health, care and unemployment insurance contributions — only pension insurance applies. That leaves more net pay than a regular job.

International students

Non-EU students can work 140 full or 280 half days per year (raised from 120/240 in March 2024). A working student contract usually fits within this — confirm the exact limits printed on your residence permit.
