Your area of work

Join us as an Intern in Recovery and Resolution Planning and take the opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative environment. During your internship, you’ll dive into the fundamentals of Recovery and Resolution Planning - covering preparation, maintenance, reporting, and the practical implementation of plans. You will collaborate with a variety of teams across Clearstream, including Risk Management, Credit, Treasury, Financial Accounting and Controlling, giving you a broad perspective on our business. From day one, you will be actively involved in our processes and entrusted with diverse, stimulating, and challenging tasks that will help you grow both professionally and personally.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will assist our team in developing and maintaining Recovery Plans as well as Restructuring & Wind-down Plans, ensuring full compliance with BRRD and CSDR regulations
  • You will coordinate and gather essential information from key stakeholders across the organization
  • You will prepare daily reports for Management Bodies
  • You will contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives within the department
  • You will support the planning and execution of Fire Drills to test operational readiness

Furthermore, we offer the possibility of an orientation internship, whereby you are currently in a gap-year after your bachelor's or master's degree in the above-mentioned fields of study - in this case, an enrolment is not required
  • You are a strong team player with excellent communication skills, demonstrating commitment, independence, motivation, and attention to detail

  • You are familiar with the current regulatory framework for CSDs and banks (e.g., BRRD)

  • You are fluent in written and spoken English; German is considered an asset

Working student essentials

What this Finance internship in Frankfurt means for you — pay rules, social contributions, and what international students should check before applying.

Weekly hours

Internships have no 20-hour cap, but a voluntary internship longer than three months generally has to pay at least the German minimum wage. Mandatory internships in your study programme are exempt.

Working student rules

Social contributions

Mandatory internships are largely exempt from social contributions. Voluntary internships are treated like regular employment once they run long enough, so contributions usually apply.
