Description provided by Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

The world of IT consulting is colourful and together we would like to make it even more colourful. Therefore, we would like to expand our existing internship offer and accompany and support young female, trans- or non-binary talents on their way into IT consulting with our Female Talent Internship, in order to push technological boundaries and grow beyond ourselves.

Have we sparked your interest? Then support us for a period of two or three months with start 1st of September 2026 as part of our consultant team. You will be actively involved in the development of IT strategies, concepts and solutions, both at the customer's site and at one of our locations, using and expanding the skills you have learned. At the end of your internship, you will take part in our communication training and hone your acquired skills once again.

Shape the world of tomorrow

  • You'll provide support for the technical analysis and the review of IT architectures or the IT product evaluation for different industries and technical environments
  • You work out IT-related project content in close cooperation with your team
  • You'll be responsible for the preparation and follow-up of meetings and presentations and all project related analysis and data
  • Together with your personal buddy, you will immerse yourself in the world of IT consulting and expand your specialist knowledge
  • Through joint events you can share your knowledge with other participants of the programme and expand your network

This Is How You Make a Difference

  • You are at your studies in computer science, business informatics or a related discipline
  • You show a strong interest in IT topics and have already gained first practical experience via internships or as working student (SW-development, IT project management, IT services processes)
  • You have analytical and conceptual abilities and are a professional in using MS-Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • You feel comfortable in interdisciplinary teams and global contexts
  • You are good at understanding and communicating complex topics in both, German and English

How You Can Grow With Us

Our Female Talent Internship is designed to introduce you to the world of IT consulting. Through joint events, a personal buddy and a training, we also want to give you the opportunity to expand your network and your soft skills. You will start in a corporate culture that has long left rigid hierarchies behind - we focus on diversity and an open feedback culture across all levels. Our working environment offers the best conditions for this. And with our regular Office Fridays, we support the strong and friendly network of our team, from which you will also benefit beyond the actual work.

Working student essentials

What this Consulting internship in Cologne means for you: the pay rules, the social contributions, and what international students should check before applying.

Weekly hours

Internships have no 20-hour cap, but a voluntary internship longer than three months generally has to pay at least the German minimum wage. Mandatory internships in your study programme are exempt.

Working student rules

Social contributions

Mandatory internships are largely exempt from social contributions. Voluntary internships are treated like regular employment once they run long enough, so contributions usually apply.
