As the world leader in the production of innovative medicines, we at Boehringer Ingelheim offer you the opportunity to get to know the many tasks of the Venture Fund (BIVF). The BIVF was formed in March 2010 to invest in biotechnology and start-up companies to help drive innovation in medical science. You accompany us at different projects and take responsibility for maintaining reports.

You will gain an insight into the following topics and areas of activities

  • You will get insights in monitoring and controling the financials of the BIVF's participations
  • Support in maintaining the reports of the BIVF holding companies and support in the preparation of reports for the management of BIVF
  • In addition, you will set-up and maintain capitalization tables of the BIVF's participations as an instrument of investment and asset management processes
  • Together with us, you will take part in special projects of the BIVF
  • In cooperation with your colleagues, you will support BIVF’s planning and reporting processes
  • Furthermore, you will support financial due diligence in the acquisition and divestiture processes and prepare related evaluation reports


Your Profile

  • Student in at least the 4th semester of business/economics, with a focus on finance, controlling or M&A
  • First professional experience (e. g. commercial training or internships)
  • Very good analytical and communicative skills
  • Independent and structured working style and interest in project work
  • High team spirit
  • Proficient use of MS Office
  • Fluency in German and English


What we can offer you

  • As a student intern, you can expect a fair expense allowance (payment of the currently valid minimum wage)
  • You will be given 2.5 days of paid time off for every full month of the internship
  • A full-time internship is 37.5 hours a week (a smaller number of hours can be arranged)


The duration of the internship is 3-6 months. The start of the internship can be made several times a year. The earliest possible start date is currently September 1, 2026. Please enter the desired period in your application.
