And that’s why our experts will treat you as part of the team from day one, encourage you to bring your own ideas to the table – and give you the opportunity to really show what you can do.

Our team at the new BMW Group Driving Simulation Center operates some of the most advanced driving simulators in the automotive industry, as we progressively virtualize the testing and calibration of our vehicles and functions. We focus on systematically evaluating and improving the quality of the driving scenarios behind our virtual tests.

What awaits you?

  • Furthermore, you help make driving scenarios usable across common open formats and simulators, such as ASAM OpenSCENARIO, Scenic, esmini, and CARLA.
  • In addition, you support building an evaluation setup that the team can continue to use beyond your project.
  • Moreover, you follow how related questions are approached in current research and help relate your findings to them.
  • Additionally, you support documenting your work, with the option to contribute to a scientific publication.

Please note that your thesis must be supervised by a university on your part.

What should you bring along?

  • Studies in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering, data science, or a comparable field (Master's preferred).
  • Solid programming skills in Python.
  • Interest in large language models and/or agent-based systems; initial practical experience is an advantage.
