Description provided by Arbeitnow - Jobs in Germany & UK

PFASuiki is a climate-tech startup with a clear mission: creating a world free from persistent “forever chemicals.” Using advanced electrochemical oxidation technology, we develop solutions to permanently destroy PFAS and transform contaminated streams into safe water.

We are looking for an ambitious Cloud & Data Engineering Intern / Working Student to help build the digital backbone of our technology development. You will work at the intersection of cloud engineering, full-stack development, scientific data and AI – turning experimental data and analysis tools into scalable, production-grade infrastructure.

Location: Oberhaching (South of Munich) – 100% on-site.

Tasks

  • Maintain and optimize our GCP/Firebase cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability, scalability and security
  • Expand our TypeScript/JavaScript-based laboratory data platform and improve the user experience for R&D and engineering teams
  • Build robust data pipelines connecting experimental data, databases, analysis tools and dashboards
  • Translate existing scientific Python analysis code into scalable, web-based workflows
  • Identify and implement LLM/AI integrations for data synthesis, automated reporting and environmental/industry intelligence
  • Develop clear dashboards that turn complex electrochemical data into actionable insights
  • Improve our existing codebase, architecture and technical documentation to evolve prototypes into sustainable company standards
  • Work directly with our R&D and engineering teams to identify opportunities for further digitalization and automation

Requirements

  • Currently studying Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related technical field
  • Strong foundation in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python and SQL
  • Experience or strong interest in cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS; Firebase experience is a plus
  • Hands-on, resourceful mindset – you enjoy understanding existing systems and finding pragmatic solutions
  • Interest in LLMs, AI coding tools and workflow automation, with the curiosity to identify new applications
  • Understanding of clean code, software architecture and the importance of high-quality technical documentation
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Motivation to use technology to address a major global environmental challenge

Benefits

  • Real ownership: Build infrastructure and tools that will become part of PFASuiki’s technology platform
  • Real impact: Apply your technical skills to one of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges
  • Cutting-edge technology: Work hands-on with cloud platforms, scientific data, full-stack development and AI automation
  • A seat at the table: Your ideas can directly influence our digital architecture, workflows and product roadmap
  • Startup experience: Gain exposure to the full journey from scientific R&D to industrial and commercial execution
  • Close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers and technology experts
  • Competitive compensation, monthly public transportation ticket and daily lunch allowance

Want to build technology that helps make “forever chemicals” a problem of the past?

At PFASuiki, you won’t just support existing systems – you will help build the digital infrastructure that enables our technology to scale.

If you combine technical curiosity with a builder’s mindset and enjoy taking ownership, we would love to meet you.

Apply with your CV and a brief introduction outlining your relevant experience and what excites you about joining PFASuiki.
