The Team

The Team provides creative and alternative financing solutions to clients out of 5 offices in EMEA with more than 40 dedicated professionals in order to secure capital for acquisition financings, investments, refinancings & recapitalisations, staple financings, covenant resets / amendments of existing financing structures and developing structured capital solutions.

As part of the Debt Advisory team, you will join an experienced and dynamic group of 6 professionals based in Frankfurt that provides financing advisory to private equity and corporate clients, giving you the opportunity to learn about a broad range of debt (and equity) products, industries, and clients.

How you will contribute

As an Intern, you will be part of the Debt Advisory DACH team for 3 months, gaining exposure to:

  • Assisting on debt advisory transactions for private equity and corporate clients
  • Supporting team members within A&M Debt Advisory DACH in executing debt financing transactions
  • Building and managing complex financial models for LBO, syndicated and (re-)financing situations
  • Performing detailed sector and company research and analysis
  • Assisting on preparing marketing documents and client pitch presentations
  • Conducting strategic, financial and valuation analysis

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a master’s program in business, management, finance or economics
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, high resilience, and ownership
  • Genuine interest in investment banking, especially in debt markets both public and private
  • Relevant practical experience in a consulting or financial services environment, as well as familiarity with financial applications, is beneficial
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge in Excel and Power Point
  • Fluency in German and English

Weekly hours

Internships have no 20-hour cap, but a voluntary internship longer than three months generally has to pay at least the German minimum wage. Mandatory internships in your study programme are exempt.

Social contributions

Mandatory internships are largely exempt from social contributions. Voluntary internships are treated like regular employment once they run long enough, so contributions usually apply.
