Job description

Allianz Technology published this listing. We've added our own working-student context below — what this role means for your weekly hours, take-home pay and student visa as a student in Stuttgart, Germany.

Description provided by Allianz Technology

About The Job

Join the team behind Tenant UI, our self-service platform for Kafka topic management. You will help evolve the tool from a manual administration interface into a high-performance, self-service portal.

In our ecosystem, a Tenant represents an independent group, team, or application that shares a single Kafka cluster. While the underlying infrastructure maintains logical isolation between tenants, the Tenant UI gives each tenant owner a dedicated interface to view, create, and manage their own topics and service accounts — all within their authorized scope.

What You Do

  • Feature development: Build access controls, stage management (Non-Production / Production), and self-service monitoring dashboards covering topic health, performance, and consumer status.
  • Infrastructure & DevOps: Automate deployments and optimize backend logic.
  • Quality & UX: Write automated regression tests and ensure a smooth user experience.
  • AI integration: Explore and implement AI-driven features to streamline topic administration and workflows.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation for the platform.

What You Bring

  • Linux, Python, and Bash scripting experience
  • Familiarity with authentication/authorization concepts and API security basics (certificates, PKI a plus)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • First practical experience with monitoring tools desirable
  • Solid Knowledge of distributed event streaming and Kafka
  • Familiarity with Docker, nginx, and GitHub Actions
  • Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles and their practical use
  • Degree in computer science or software engineering (in progress is fine)
  • Fluent in German and English, written and spoken
  • Stuttgart-based, available at least one day per week in the office

You can start immediately and are interested in a working student position - part time (16-20 h/week)

What We Offer

  • We offer flexible schedules aligned with your studies by tailoring your work hours to accommodate your academic commitments, providing the flexibility needed to effectively balance your work responsibilities and studies.
  • We facilitate continuous learning opportunities by unlocking your potential with a complimentary LinkedIn Learning Account, empowering you to acquire new skills and stay ahead in your field. Explore various avenues for personal and professional development.
  • We foster a dynamic and global team environment where you can collaborate with a highly talented, dynamic, and international team, fostering an environment where creativity and innovation thrive. Gain exposure to diverse perspectives that contribute to your personal and professional growth.
  • We are offering a thriving and diverse student community, numerous networking opportunities to connect with like-minded peers, share experiences, and build valuable connections for your future.
  • We offer a tax-exempt travel allowance of EUR 25 per month if you prefer to utilize your local public transportation system exclusively.

Need to know

  • Requirement for internship and working student positions is the enrollment in a university – or (for an internship) a gap year.
  • We can only consider your application if you provide the following documents:
    • Certificate of enrollment (exception gap year)
    • Valid Work and residence permit (for non-EU citizens). Please check before applying if you can work with your current VISA.
