We are looking for a Working Student – AI & Resilience Analytics to join our Allianz Risk Consulting team in Munich, Germany.
Your Team
You will join the Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team, a specialist group that helps global corporate clients understand and manage complex risks through expert advice, data-driven insights, and innovative services. We work across topics such as climate adaptation, extreme heat, supply chain resilience, operational resilience, and emerging risks, in close collaboration with risk engineering, underwriting, and claims colleagues.
This is an opportunity to apply data science, AI, and advanced analytics to real-world resilience challenges. You will contribute to client projects and service innovation, working with experienced risk experts and gaining exposure to how analytical solutions are developed and implemented for multinational companies.
The Impact You Will Have
As a Working Student in AI & Resilience Analytics, you will help turn claims, climate, operational, and external data into practical risk insights. You will develop analytical outputs and decision-support tools, and explore how AI can strengthen risk assessment and resilience services. Your work will contribute to client solutions and next-generation analytics capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze claims, loss, climate, operational, and resilience data to identify trends, risk drivers, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for risk reduction.
- You will help prepare industry risk profiles, benchmarking materials, and research summaries for internal and client-facing use.
- Apply data and AI-supported methods, including natural language processing, to extract insights from claims narratives and other unstructured information for resilience outcomes.
- Develop clear visualizations, analytical outputs, and decision-support tools for service development and client deliverables.
- Develop AI prompt libraries and analytical workflows, and explore suitable machine learning applications to improve insight generation, efficiency, and consistency.
- You will help review data quality and availability, making sure inputs are reliable and well documented.
- You will assist in preparing early-stage risk engineering and resilience materials before client meetings.
- You will support the tracking of client feedback and help improve reports, templates, and deliverables over time.
What You’ll Bring
- You are currently enrolled in a Master’s programme or PhD, ideally in data science, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, climate science, environmental engineering, geospatial analysis, supply chain analytics, or a related quantitative field. Enrollment is required for the full duration of the role.
- You enjoy working with data, asking questions, and turning information into clear and practical insights.
- You have practical experience with Python and data analytics, and are comfortable working with structured data. Experience with machine learning, geospatial analysis, or supply chain analytics is highly desirable.
- You are curious about statistical modelling, data visualization, natural language processing, or how large language models can support business tasks.
- You are interested in learning more about risk, insurance, resilience, and the practical use of AI in a business environment.
- You can communicate clearly in English and are comfortable explaining ideas, findings, or questions to different colleagues.
- You are open to using AI tools responsibly to support daily tasks, improve efficiency, and explore new ways of working.
- You are reliable, well organized, and motivated to learn while contributing to meaningful team projects.
- Nice to have: Research, thesis, publication, consulting, or internship experience related to risk, resilience, supply chains, AI, data science, geospatial analysis, insurance, or corporate risk analytics.
Further Information
- Duration: at least 6 months (preferably longer).
- Working hours: 20 hours/week or 38 hours/week.
- Enrollment at a university or college is a prerequisite for the duration of employment.
