The main responsibility of the IT Support Technician – Student Assistant is to provide onsite support for hardware management, asset management and physical support for other IT equipment including servers, switches, printers, cabling, mobile devices, and also to provide support presence at our onsite Tech Bar where support issues and advice is required by colleagues. The majority of Maersk Technology support will be provided remotely via remote support teams, The IT Support Technician – Student Assistant will be responsible for fulfilling support services which require physical onsite presence, assisting the remote support teams where required and directly interacting with colleagues to solve sometimes complex IT Support issues. The IT Support Technician – Student Assistant will work as part of the existing Onsite IT team. Important for this position is professional communication, great customer service and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently with a high sense of urgency and result orientation is the key to success in the role.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Handling and preparing end user hardware, especially hardware used in a warehouse environment
- Direct user support via tickets raised and assigned in Service Now or via face-to face visits to our onsite Tech Bar.
- Problem and Incident Management Collecting and providing input for improvements
- Act as part of a team for hardware rollouts as required
- Asset management updates for deployed hardware to Service Now
- Handling and preparing incoming Hardware
- Gaining knowledge about the entire Maersk Group
- Building project involvement and coordination experience
- Building and enhancing experience in managing IT infrastructure
- Providing world class customer service and development of customer service skills
- Continued development of core IT Skills related to global IT support management
- Experienced in IT Support
- Familiarity with end user systems
- A confident, self-driven and organised individual with IT knowledge and some experience in solving IT related problems
- Apart from service-mindedness and results-orientation, the person must possess good communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to a high level of service and responsibility is required
- Spend most of their daytime supporting our business colleagues, and is expected to prioritise and plan most of their working day in collaboration with the rest of the team
- A team player, have the ability to function autonomously and with direct supervision and understand the value of supporting colleagues and uprating their experience and knowledge
- Passionate and be able to deliver a friendly and robust service to express to business colleagues at all levels
- Prepared to work onsite in our office in Hamburg
