suena energy is a green tech startup specializing in algorithmic energy trading for energy storage systems and renewable energies.

Our vision: a world where clean energy is used reliably, economically, and intelligently. With our AI-based optimization and trading software, we maximize the revenues of operators of large-scale energy storage and renewable assets on short-term electricity and balancing markets – while simultaneously minimizing their risks.

We're a team of more than 50 people, combining a warm, supportive team culture with true startup drive. Following our successful Series A, we're expanding our trading team – and looking for two curious, analytically sharp Working Students to grow with us.

Your mission

• Dig into the data: You pick up ad-hoc analysis requests straight from our daily trading meeting – investigating asset performance, spotting anomalies, and turning raw data into clear, actionable findings.
• Go deep on market research: You independently own longer-term research topics – from cross-border power flows and interconnector dynamics to ancillary services for batteries and evolving market regulations.
• Make sense of complexity: You analyze price trends and market signals across European power markets and translate your findings into structured, well-documented outputs the trading team can act on.
• Bridge the gaps: You jump in where the trading team needs an extra pair of hands – no two weeks look the same, and that's exactly the point.
  
  

Your work shifts between deep, self-directed research and fast-turnaround analysis – driven by what's happening in the markets.

Your profile

• You're enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program, ideally in Energy Systems, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a comparable quantitative field.
• You write Python and know how to leverage AI tools to get further, faster – whether that's structuring a problem, querying data, or turning a rough idea into a clean analysis. SQL is a plus.
• You're a structured thinker who can take an open-ended question, break it down, and come back with something sharper than what was asked for.
• You work independently and with ownership – you don't need someone to tell you what to do every morning.
• You're genuinely curious about energy markets and excited to build real expertise in a fast-moving field.
• You communicate clearly in English (B2+); German is a bonus but not required.
