Job Description

Project background

A predecessor thesis developed an LSTM-based model for predicting chamber temperatures. Deviations between predicted temperatures and actual sensor values could provide a basis for predictive maintenance, for example by indicating defective disposables. The existing idea, architecture, and documented behavior will be evaluated and further developed.

Tasks

• Review the documentation and results of the predecessor thesis
• Evaluate the existing predictive maintenance concept
• Further develop the existing approach and/or generate new ideas
• Rapidly prototype potential approaches
• Compare and assess the different ideas
• Propose an implementable solution

Qualifications

• You are an enrolled student in the field of Engineering, Medical Technology or Computer Science seeking a student project or a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis.
• You are available for a project lasting 6 to 12 months during 2026 or 2027.
• You are willing to work closely with R&D specialists in mechanics, electronics, and software.
• You are curious, like to take ownership and responsibility and can communicate in English or German.
