Intern Information Technology Infrastructure (All genders welcome)

Work on real projects and tasks within our IT department of the Kia Europe Headquarters in Frankfurt/Main, Germany

>> Starting from November 2026 or January 2027 - Minimum of 6 months (possible prolongation for up to 12 months).

The Requirements

For your internship at Kia Europe, you need to be enrolled during the whole internship period. Furthermore, you need a valid visa and an unrestricted permit to work in Germany. We recommend completing a six-month internship with us, as this gives you sufficient time to learn about Kia Europe and familiarize yourself with your topic.

Your Mission

  • Join the Kia Europe’s IT Infrastructure team as an intern supporting end-user computing and daily infrastructure operations for the company’s network and server infrastructure.
  • Assist with IT infrastructure and workplace projects, including user computing standardization, Microsoft 365, Intune-based endpoint management, user onboarding and end-user training.
  • Support the establishment and improvement of governance frameworks and operational policies for the structured management of IT infrastructure services, assets, and processes.
  • Support IT Service Desk operations by helping improve service processes, knowledge documentation, ticket quality, backlog follow-up and user communication.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and practical automation ideas for IT infrastructure, endpoint support, IT asset management and user support.
  • Participate in operational reporting, IT asset lifecycle management, vendor coordination, issue tracking and service quality monitoring using ticket management systems.

Your Talents

  • Graduate student having a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrates a resilient mindset with a “Never give up” attitude, embracing challenges as opportunities to grow.
  • Motivated, autonomous, and a strong team player with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate interest in IT and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to a wide audience.
  • Good understanding of Network principles and Windows OS.
  • Customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Certificates in areas such as networking, security, cloud technologies, or Microsoft 365 are highly valued and considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to new tasks, technologies, and challenges in a fast-moving environment.
  • Capable at analyzing problems and at communicating solutions and results.

Comments

From time to time, the incumbent’s supervisor/manager may assign additional unlisted duties/responsibilities on a temporary or regularly basis depending on the business needs. The incumbent is expected to work safely and follow established procedures and policies. The incumbent is responsible for understanding and complying with KIA Europe employment regulations.

Wichtiges für Werkstudierende

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Werkstudenten-Regeln

Sozialabgaben

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

Versicherung prüfen

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
