Stellenbeschreibung

Beschreibung bereitgestellt von German Aerospace Center (DLR)

Welcome to the Institute of Flight Systems Engineering. Our work focuses on the interaction between aircraft configuration, pilots and modern flight system technology. From flight dynamics to unmanned aerial vehicles, from simulation to real flight tests - we analyse, test and develop innovations that will shape the flying of the future.

What To Expect

In the avionics group of DLR, we are researching how next-generation avionics platforms can be designed, implemented, and assured that support future use cases such as sustainable aviation. To systematically and safely develop these avionics platforms, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is applied. During the student job, the goal is to develop a Systems Modeling Language (SysML v2) library that streamlines the model-based representation of avionics platforms. The library shall then be applied to create a represent a modern avionics platform including cross-domain topics such as hardware, software, network, and applications. Finally, the safety characteristics of the avionics platform shall be analysed using a modern and model-based safety approaches.

Your tasks

  • Getting familiar with modern MBSE tools and languages such as SysML v2
  • Interviewing DLR teams about modern avionics technologies and applications
  • Developing a model-based library to represent avionics technologies and platforms
  • Creating a system model of the avionics platform using SysML v2
  • Getting familiar with model-based safety methods such as STPA
  • Executing a model-based safety analysis for the avionics platform
  • Deriving mitigating requirements to improve the safety characteristics of the platform

Your profile

  • Knowledge about systems- and software engineering
  • Knowledge about aircraft architectures and avionics systems
  • Knowledge about aviation safety standards and processes
  • Practical experience with modelling languages (e.g. SysML) and tools (e.g. Cameo)
  • Practical experience with programming languages and simulation
  • Proficiency in the English language

We look forward to getting to know you!
