About The Role

As Working Student – Scaled Model Systems, you support the integration and flight testing of the systems in our scaled demonstrator aircraft at ERC System. These models support verification and identification tasks in conceptual and preliminary design, are used to research future aircraft configurations, and verify flight controller capabilities.

You work closely with experienced engineers and gain hands-on insight into systems integration and test operations, including the mechanical build and ground and flight tests.

What You Will Do

  • Install and integrate propulsion, power supply, avionics, and other aircraft systems, including the mechanical assembly this requires
  • Build wiring and harnesses and integrate them into the aircraft
  • Prepare and support system, component, ground, and flight tests
  • Analyze test data and feed the findings into the next build
  • Help improve technical concepts, tools, and methods in the workshop and test environment

What You Bring

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with UAVs or model aircraft, including an understanding of their propulsion and power supply
  • Experience with wiring and electrical integration
  • Strong motivation to work with hardware and get it ready to fly
  • A structured and reliable way of working, independently and in a team, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English, with German knowledge as a plus

Moreover, it would be helpful if you also

  • have worked with Pixhawk or ArduPilot flight controllers and their ecosystem
  • bring a background in test operations or flight testing
  • have scripting experience in Python or MATLAB
  • have experience with workshop practices and mechanical assembly

What We Offer

  • Full-scale aerospace engineering, not concept slides
  • A 60+ engineer team at Ottobrunn
  • Real ownership and flat hierarchies: a modern startup culture where your input shapes decisions, not just execution
  • Flexible working hours, remote work, and competitive compensation
  • Health & wellbeing: EGYM Wellpass membership and subsidized lunch in our canteen
  • Office extras: espresso coffee, fresh fruit, and soft drinks, plus regular team and company events, and plenty more once you're on board
