Summary
At Wireless Technologies & Ecosystems (WTE) team, we are looking for a motivated

and curious intern to join our team working at the intersection of cellular software test

engineering and applied AI/ML automation. The intern will work alongside engineers

to explore, prototype, and apply the latest AI/ML tools and techniques to solve real

problems in modem/cellular test automation, log analysis, and defect triage. The ideal

candidate is not just familiar with AI/ML concepts from coursework but has hands-on

experience building and experimenting with current-generation tools - LLM APIs,

agentic frameworks, RAG pipelines, and NLP libraries - and is eager to bring that

curiosity to a fast-evolving, high-impact engineering domain.

Description
If you are a student who lives at the cutting edge of AI/ML - always experimenting

with the newest models, frameworks, and techniques - and want to apply that

curiosity to solve real, high-impact problems in cellular software testing, this

internship offers a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of two fast-moving fields.

You'll gain hands-on experience with production test systems while helping shape how

AI/ML transforms the way we test and validate next-generation connectivity products.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype LLM-powered tools and agentic workflows to automate or accelerate
  • test execution, results analysis, defect triage, or findings summarization
  • Experiment with the latest AI/ML models, frameworks, and techniques (agentic
  • frameworks, RAG, prompt engineering) and evaluate their applicability to end-to-end
  • test automation
  • Build small proof-of-concept NLP pipelines for test initiation, monitoring, log
  • parsing, root cause analysis and extracting important insight that drive corrections /
  • changes in future test campaigns
  • Collaborate with engineers to integrate promising AI/ML prototypes into existing test
  • tooling
  • Present findings and demos on new AI/ML techniques explored during the internship,
  • contributing to the team's understanding of emerging trends
  • Learn cellular technologies testing strategies and automation workflows for modem/
  • cellular testing under the guidance of senior engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s / PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Science
  • Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Python, including scripting, OOP fundamentals, and clean
  • coding practices
  • Hands-on project experience (academic, personal, hackathon, or research) applying
  • LLMs, NLP, or generative AI - not just theoretical coursework knowledge
  • Good experience with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, knowledge graphs or fine-
  • tuning concepts
  • Practical exposure to at least one agentic framework or tool-orchestration pattern
  • (LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, MCP, or similar), through projects or self-study.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of C/C++/Objective C/SwiftUI or a comparable programming
  • language
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving fundamentals
  • Exposure to REST APIs and SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Interest in or coursework exposure to communication technologies (LTE, 5G NR) or
  • modem/embedded systems would be an added advantage
  • Experience with Git and collaborative version control workflows
  • Good analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • environment
  • Genuine curiosity about staying current with the latest AI/ML tools, models, and
  • research, and translating that into applied engineering solutions.
