Description
There’s a universe of opportunity at Amazon.
At Amazon, your career doesn’t follow a straight line. It accelerates, twists, and challenges you in ways you never expected. From the moment you join, you’re part of something big: building products or services that reach millions and shaping how people live, work, and connect every day. This is where your ideas turn into real impact.
You’ll work with world class tools, global platforms, and systems built to operate at an extraordinary scale. You’ll move fast, experiment and launch solutions that matter. With endless opportunities to explore across teams and roles, you’ll learn quickly, apply what you know and discover skills you didn’t know existed. This is an environment designed for builders who want to see the impact of their work in the world. Ready to start your adventure?
What’s in it for you?
An internship at Amazon means real responsibility from day one. You’ll build, test, and learn alongside people who want to see you succeed, while making an impact that reaches far beyond campus.
Key job responsibilities
Work backwards from the customer, identifying inputs to grow Amazon's most strategic brands and improve their performance within a retail category.
Support vendor managers in providing a suite of services designed to help brands succeed, collaborating with cross-functional teams including in-stock and marketing.
Develop analytical and problem-solving skills by collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to drive category performance.
Build an understanding of customer pain points, requirements, and potential value across retail, advertising, and merchant services.
Identify target accounts using market data and industry intelligence to support business growth.
Identify opportunities to improve products, services, processes, systems, and tools across the business.
Work with different parts of the Amazon business to implement improvement projects, including category teams, product teams, and technical support teams.
A day in the life
Every day is a little different as a Retail Vendor Manager Working Student. Working alongside a vendor manager, you'll learn how Amazon handles its e-commerce retail business across product categories — from books to fashion, electronics to grocery, and everything in between. You might spend your morning analysing category performance data and identifying growth opportunities for strategic brands, then spend your afternoon working with marketing or in-stock teams to implement an improvement project that enhances the customer shopping experience.
Amazon is a customer-obsessed business, so no matter which retail category you join, part of your role will involve working backwards from the customer to identify what matters most. You'll gain exposure to Amazon's advertising products and merchant services, learn how we create custom opportunities to delight clients, and partner across functions to deliver results — building your analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Extra perks for Amazonians such as: exclusive Amazon.de discount; Deutschlandticket (Transportation Ticket); bike rental; gym membership discount; Beta testing on new Amazon products; and free mental health, legal, and financial support for you and your family.
Note: You must have the right to work in the country of employment by the start date.
