4C is a sustainability certification scheme for the coffee and cocoa industry. 4C certification focuses on good agricultural and management practices, including requirements on economic, social and environmental conditions for coffee and cocoa production and processing in order to establish credible sustainable and transparent supply chains. Independent certification bodies verify compliance with the 4C requirements. 4C operates in 20 countries and is the largest certification system in the coffee sector. It is also a highly innovative standard working on a variety of crucial topics such as reduction and offsetting of carbon footprint, biodiversity improvement and empowering women.

This is why the Sustainability Management team of experts are looking forward to welcome you as Student Assistant – Marketing and Partnerships (Chinese/Japanese Speaking) at 4C headquarters in Cologne.

Your tasks

  • You will support our Marketing and Partnerships Team in preparing publications, reports, guidance documents and external communications materials
  • You will apply and maintain official 4C Word and PowerPoint templates, ensuring consistent structure, formatting and visual layout
  • You will format document elements such as tables, headings, lists, captions, headers, footers and tables of contents
  • You will help turn draft texts and presentation content into clean, print- and web-ready materials aligned with 4C’s brand identity
  • You may support basic charts, visuals and simple Excel-based data tasks for marketing and partnership materials

Your profile

  • Enrolled student in the area of graphic design, media/communications, business administration, information management or another related field
  • Available for 10-20 hours per week and onsite work in the Cologne office at least twice a week
  • Excellent written and spoken language skills in English; Chinese and Japanese language skills are an advantage, German is beneficial but not required
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, especially Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; basic Excel skills for charts and simple data tasks are desirable
  • Strong understanding of document structure, Word styles, formatting consistency and presentation layout
  • Good eye for visual layout, margins, alignment, typography and brand consistency
  • High attention to detail and ability to deliver clean, well-structured documents and presentations
  • Ability to work independently, communicate proactively and stay organised across several tasks
  • Supportive and dedicated team player with a hands-on attitude
