Why you should join?

The Operations Finance Intern will support the Adelberg Plant Operations Finance team in day‑to‑day financial analysis, reporting, and operational support activities. This role is designed as a developmental, entry‑level position to build foundational skills in finance within a manufacturing environment.

The intern will work closely with Plant Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Materials teams, gaining hands‑on exposure to plant cost structures, performance reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, under close supervision and guidance.

This internship offers direct exposure to real‑world plant finance activities at the Adelberg manufacturing site, with structured support, mentoring, and meaningful analytical work.

Main Tasks

Financial Reporting & Analysis Support

  • Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly Excel‑based operational reports for the plant
  • Support basic cost center tracking and monitoring, helping ensure data accuracy
  • Assist with variance analysis vs. plan or forecast, identifying and clearly summarizing key drivers
  • Help collect, validate, and consolidate data inputs for plant financial reviews

Plant Operations Finance Support

  • Support the Plant Finance team with standard cost reviews, data updates, and documentation
  • Assist in monitoring key manufacturing cost streams (labor, overhead, scrap, etc.)
  • Participate in plant operational meetings as an observer or support role to understand business drivers
  • Support TEBIT / cost‑saving initiatives through data analysis and tracking

Month‑End & Controls Support

  • Provide support during the month‑end close process, including data preparation and reconciliations
  • Assist with internal control documentation and checks, under supervision
  • Help maintain organized financial files and supporting documentation

Projects & Learning

  • Support ad‑hoc finance or operational projects as assigned by Plant Finance leadership
  • Actively participate in Kaizen or continuous improvement activities when applicable
  • Build understanding of how Finance partners with Manufacturing and Operation

Learning & Development Objectives

This Internship Is Intended To

Build foundational knowledge of operations finance in a manufacturing environment

Develop Excel, financial analysis, and data interpretation skills

Increase business acumen and understanding of plant KPIs

Strengthen communication and collaboration skills within cross‑functional teams

Your Ideal Background

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Basic understanding of financial principles and interest in manufacturing or operations
  • Strong curiosity, learning mindset, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with Excel (basic formulas, tables; advanced skills are a plus but not required)
  • Interest in a future career in Operations Finance or Manufacturing Finance
  • Ability to work in a structured, fast‑paced plant environment
  • Professional English and good German skills
