We are looking for highly motivated Bachelor and Master students to join our software development team and help shape the future of Agentic AI. As a Bachelor or Master intern joining our team, you will:

Your Role And Responsibilities

Your Role

As a member of our international development team, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and enhancement of cutting-edge Data Platform and Agentic AI capabilities within IBM's enterprise software portfolio. Working closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, and AI specialists, you will gain hands-on experience across the entire software development lifecycle while helping deliver innovative solutions to some of the world's largest enterprises.

What You Will Do

You may have the opportunity to:

• Design, develop, and implement IBM software solutions, covering AI Agents, Data Platforms, Observability and Z Software by leveraging IBM technologies
• Explore and evaluate emerging AI trends and identify opportunities to integrate them into existing products
• Define and prioritize innovative AI use cases aligned with business and customer needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Develop and extend software components using modern programming languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies
• Optimize and enhance existing code bases to improve performance, scalability, and user experience
• Test, validate, and refine AI-powered solutions to ensure high quality and reliability
• Automate development and testing processes to improve engineering efficiency
• Research the latest developments in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Agentic AI
• Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to stakeholders
• Participate in knowledge-sharing activities and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field
• Strong interest in AI, software development, cloud technologies, and enterprise software including relational databases
• Programming experience in one or more modern languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
• Good communication skills in English. German language skills are a plus
