Stellenbeschreibung

Beschreibung bereitgestellt von German Aerospace Center (DLR)

At the Institute of Networked Energy Systems, we pursue an overarching goal: we want to make energy transition in the economy and society successful through our research. With about 190 employees at our Oldenburg and Stuttgart sites, we develop transformation strategies and technical solutions to efficiently link the electricity, heating, transport and industrial sectors at all levels of the energy system in a way that benefits the system. To this end, we work together with our partners from industry and research to develop a holistic understanding of the system and effective system solutions.

Would you like to work in an interactive, collaborative and international team? Are you interested in the development and further advancement of renewable energy technologies, particularly the optimised production of synthetic fuels using Power-to-Liquid (PtL)? If so, the Institute for Networked Energy Systems is an attractive employer for you. Through your work, you will actively support us in the development, design and evaluation of energy systems incorporating Power-to-Liquid plants.

What to expect

The Energy Systems Technology Department focuses on the interaction between system-critical energy technologies within decentralised, interconnected structures. In the distribution network in particular, we are striving to develop new architectures for the energy systems of the future that ensure robust grid operation even when influenced by fluctuating feed-in sources.

Your tasks

  • You will be responsible for determining the relevant parameters for the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis based on data from the literature.
  • You will play a key role in creating and testing a model with specified parameters.
  • You will be responsible for integrating the model into the overall system.
  • You will define scenarios, apply the overall system model and analyse the results.

Your profile

  • You are currently studying for a Master’s degree in a technical or scientific subject.
  • You already have a good knowledge of Python and enjoy scientific work, and you don’t hesitate to put these skills to good use.
  • You have already gained some initial experience with energy systems and their modelling.
  • A good command of and fluency in German or English will round off your profile.

We look forward to getting to know you!
