Meet the Team

The position is limited to a maximum duration of 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Projects: Support the Life Cycle Management team in projects, including conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), sustainability assessments, and data management activities
  • Method Development: Identify, test, and evaluate methods and studies, such as new sustainability indicators and assessment methodologies
  • Analysis: Conduct research, perform LCA-related data analyses, and develop LCA models
  • Emission Reduction: Link LCA results with process design and optimization to identify and implement emission-reduction measures
  • Insights: Review and derive insights from LCA methodologies, standards, and related documentation

Requirements

  • Education: Master's student or Bachelor’s student in the final phase of studies in a scientific or engineering discipline (ideally with a focus on chemical engineering or data science)
  • Experience: Initial practical experience with Life Cycle Assessments and related software (e.g., LCA for Experts, formerly known as GaBi) and sustainability assessment methods (e.g., biodiversity, toxicology, water, and Product Environmental Footprint) as well as a basic programming knowledge in Python is a plus
  • Interests: Strong interest in sustainability, technology, and data management
  • Languages: Fluent English (B2); good German language skills (B1) are advantageous
  • Strengths: Independent and goal-oriented working style, creative thinking, and excellent analytical skills

Wichtiges für Werkstudierende

Was dieses Praktikum im Bereich Ingenieurwesen in Hanau für dich bedeutet: die Vergütungsregeln, die Sozialabgaben und worauf internationale Studierende achten sollten.

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Werkstudenten-Regeln

Sozialabgaben

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

Versicherung prüfen

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
