Job Description

NI is one of the leading manufacturers in the field of Software Defined Radios (SDR). An important prerequisite for RF development is detailed simulation of the signal chain and measurements that can validate the simulation.

To extend the test and simulation coverage for our upcoming products, we are looking for an electrical engineering student for our Dresden R&D site. You will be guided by an experienced mentor who will work with you on a day-to-day basis.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Develop and extend measurement framework with new features and tests in LabVIEW and/or Python
  • Develop and extend simulation models and tools in LabVIEW and/or Python

Who You Are:

  • You are passionate about wireless technology and like to learn and work with the latest measurement techniques and simulation tools.
  • You can manage your time well and reach out to mentors with questions to help drive progress and completion of goals and tasks.
  • You work effectively in a group environment, problem-solve, and diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions.

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • Ongoing academic studies in Computer Science, Information System Technology, Electrical Engineering or comparable fields of studies (from 4th semester)
  • Basic understanding of RF (e.g., components, measurements)
  • First practical experience in programming (e.g., with Arduino, Raspberry Pi)
  • Good command of spoken and written English and/or German
  • Availability for 5-6 months starting in October 2026
  • This internship must be a mandatory part of your studies

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Experience in Python programming
  • Experience with RF measurements equipment (Signal Analyzer and Signal Generator)
  • Experience with RF simulations (CST, Microwave Office…)
  • Experience in LabVIEW
