YOUR TASKS AND EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • Develop and maintain an automated system to extract key results from registration documents (PDFs and similar formats) into standardized datasets.
  • Apply PDF/table parsing and LLM-based extraction techniques to capture textual and numerical data accurately and efficiently.
  • Implement validation rules and traceability mechanisms to ensure data quality, consistency, and trustworthiness.
  • Map extracted information into a common data model and integrate it into the organization's data warehouse.
  • Generate analysis-ready datasets that enable comparison of candidate rankings across internal testing networks and official registration results.
  • Support product advancement and late-stage testing decisions by providing reliable performance insights and analytics.
  • Design and scale a reusable, crop-agnostic framework that can be expanded from OSR to other crops such as corn and wheat with minimal additional development.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s (BSc) or Master’s (MSc) degree, preferably in a relevant field.
  • Programming skills in R, Python, and SQL.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in using Large Language Models (LLMs) for the automated extraction of numerical and textual information from PDFs and other file formats.
  • Strong interest in data automation, data analysis, and applying AI/LLMs to real-world data challenges.
  • Analytical and structured approach to work, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an international environment.
  • Excellent German and English language skills.

Wichtiges für Werkstudierende

Was dieses Praktikum im Bereich Tech in Monheim für dich bedeutet: die Vergütungsregeln, die Sozialabgaben und worauf internationale Studierende achten sollten.

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Sozialabgaben

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
