Working Student (m/f/d) – R&D Operations & Patent Management Support

About The Role

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Working Student to support our R&D team, with a primary focus on Patent Management and general administrative activities. In this role, you will work closely with the Patent Manager and interact with colleagues across various departments, gaining valuable insights into innovation processes, intellectual property management, and R&D operations.

This position is ideal for a student who combines technical curiosity with strong communication and organizational skills and enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

Patent Management Support

• Maintain and update patent-related databases and records.
• Support the redesign and continuous improvement of the company's patent management processes and tools.
• Help implement new tools, workflows, and ways of working within the patent management landscape.
• Monitor deadlines and support patent portfolio administration.
• Conduct research related to patent applications, prior art, and technical information.
• Prepare and collect documentation for collaboration with external patent attorneys and internal stakeholders.
• Support the coordination of patent filing and review processes.

Administrative & Operational Support

• Assist with purchase requests, orders, and vendor coordination.
• Support internal event planning and organization.
• Provide general office and administrative support for the R&D department.
• Help coordinate meetings, schedules, and departmental activities.
• Support documentation and process management activities.

Your Profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, preferably in Engineering, Technology, Natural Sciences, Business Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in technology, innovation, and intellectual property.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with data and administrative processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enjoys collaborating with different departments and stakeholders.
• Proactive, reliable, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
