Company Description

Agroverse UG is an early-stage Berlin startup building direct, traceable supply chains from Indian farms to European customers. Our first brand, The Pearl Coffees, brings single-origin specialty coffee from Araku Valley, India, to Berlin. The coffee is grown by 57 tribal farmers under the forest canopy, sourced through a direct partnership with their community, and roasted at origin. We serve it in our own café at Kantstraße 36 in Charlottenburg, alongside South Indian classics like filter kaapi, chai and Indian breakfast. As a lean, founder-led company, Agroverse offers interns the chance to work directly with the founder, take ownership of real projects, and see their impact on a growing brand from day one.

Role Description

This Startup Intern – Business Development, Marketing & Operations (Mandatory Internship) role is based at our café at Kantstraße 36, Berlin, with some flexibility to work remotely on research and content tasks. Our customers and partners are mainly local, German-speaking businesses and guests, so much of the daily communication happens in German. The intern supports business development by identifying potential partners such as cafés, offices and concept stores in Berlin, contacting them in German, organising tastings, and following up on leads. On the marketing side, tasks include creating and publishing content for Instagram and LinkedIn, helping plan campaigns, and telling the story of our farmers and our café to a Berlin audience. The role also covers operations: managing our presence on delivery platforms (Wolt, Uber Eats), supporting the relaunch of our online shop, conducting market and competitor research, preparing presentations, and improving day-to-day workflows in the café. Interns gain hands-on startup experience, own small projects end to end, and choose a focus area based on their strengths and interests.

Qualifications

  • Business-level German (at least B2) and fluent English. Much of the outreach and customer contact is in German.
  • Good knowledge of Berlin and its café, food and retail scene. You understand how local customers think and where they shop.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in approaching customers, partners and businesses.
  • Interest or first experience in sales and business development, such as lead generation, outreach and follow-up.
  • Ability to conduct market research and contribute to marketing strategy, including competitor analysis and target groups.
  • Interest in social media and content creation; experience with Instagram, reels or basic video editing is a plus.
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several tasks in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proficiency with common office and collaboration tools (spreadsheets, presentation software, Canva or similar).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in an early-stage startup.
  • Enrolment at a German university in a relevant degree programme (e.g. Business, Marketing, Economics, Hospitality or a related field), with a mandatory internship (Pflichtpraktikum) as part of the curriculum.

How to apply
