Precise metrology is a cornerstone of modern manufacturing. At ZEISS Corporate Research and Technology, we push the boundaries of what is possible to solve real world problems in this field. Join us as an intern and push your own boundaries by developing optoelectronic laboratory prototypes based on detailed physical simulations guided.

Your Role

- Screen and summarize scientific literature
- Develop prototype setups through simulation and experimentation
- Test hypothesis by planning and carrying out measurements
- Develop and implement algorithms to interpret sensor data
- Present your results at regular intervals
- Document your findings
- 6-month internship in a dynamic team with deep knowledge
- A large and active student community
- Possible option for subsequent master thesis
- Modern office culture with flexible working hours
- A bachelor’s degree and are enrolled in a master’s program in engineering, optics & photonics, computer science, physics, or similar
- Strong theoretical foundation in optics and are eager to apply it experimentally
- Programming knowledge in Python or MATLAB
- Ideally hands-on experience in an optics laboratory or with data acquisition electronics
- A motivation to build, desire to work with hardware in a laboratory environment
- Excellent organization, problem-solving & communication skills (English or German)
- Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for new technologies as well as motivation to work in agile, interdisciplinary teams
