Job description
We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
What You'll Build
The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAP’s global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. This is more than an internship; it’s the foundation for a career built on connection, creativity, and impact.
Position title: SAP CPIT Product Processes and Solutions iXp Intern (f/m/d)– AI Prototyping & Agentic Routines
Location: Walldorf, Germany
Internship duration: 6-12 months
The AI Prototyping & Routines Automation Working Student (f/m/d) supports the PP&S Executive Office in making 'Run Agentic' real at the office level — not just as a strategic aspiration, but as lived practice. This role builds the lightweight agentic solutions, automations, and proof-of-concepts that the leadership team needs to operate smarter, and that the broader organization can learn from.
This is a role for someone who likes to build: technically curious, comfortable with LLMs and automation tools, and energized by the idea of solving real problems with fast, simple solutions.
Key Activities
Office Automation & Ops
We’re looking for someone who takes the initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.
Be part of SAP Next Gen, a global community for students, universities, schools and educational partners, who are passionate about innovation and technology.
The Corporate Processes & IT (CPIT) organization is responsible for evolving and executing SAP's IT strategy. We drive the internal adoption of standard applications that support end-users in the execution and re-engineering of their processes across all lines of business. Our objective is to accelerate co-innovation with development and extend the use of SAP standard products within SAP.
About PP&S
Product Processes & Solutions (PP&S) is an L2 unit within CPIT responsible for driving portfolio and process transformation across SAP's product organization. Our ambition is to give SAP the fastest, most AI-driven product lifecycle in the industry. We operate across three delivery areas — Engineering & Technology, Solution Support, and Cloud Operations — and we are accountable for translating strategic direction into operational reality at scale.

This is a role for someone who likes to build: technically curious, comfortable with LLMs and automation tools, and energized by the idea of solving real problems with fast, simple solutions.
Key Activities
Office Automation & Ops
- Identify and automate recurring office operations: status reporting, scheduling, data aggregation, and tracking dashboards
- Build reusable templates and workflows that reduce manual effort for the Executive Office team
- Document what gets built so others can maintain and adapt it
- Rapidly prototype agentic workflows for I2O use cases proposed by the leadership team — scoped to be fast, demonstrable, and disposable if needed
- Test new AI tooling (MCP servers, Claude Code, Joule integrations) in the context of real office and I2O tasks
- Maintain a lightweight log of experiments, outcomes, and reusable learnings
- Respond to ad hoc AI requests from the LT before they become formal projects — unblock people quickly
- Support the office's 'Run Agentic' demonstration agenda: build proof points the team can show in executive settings
We’re looking for someone who takes the initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.
- Currently enrolled in a degree in computer science, information systems, business informatics, or a related technical field
- Hands-on experience with AI tools: LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot), automation platforms, or scripting — you've built things, not just used them
- Basic coding comfort (Python preferred; JavaScript acceptable) — you need to make things work, not build production systems
- Bias toward action: You prefer a working prototype over a perfect plan
- Curious and self-directed — able to scope an ambiguous problem, make a decision, and ship something
- English fluency required; German is a plus
- Working from the office in Walldorf is required 2-3 times per week. If you are applying from outside the area, please mention your relocation plans or preferences in your CV (Relocation costs are not reimbursed by the manager/employer)
Be part of SAP Next Gen, a global community for students, universities, schools and educational partners, who are passionate about innovation and technology.
- Culture of Collaboration: Partner with experienced SAP colleagues and expert mentors who will support your growth. Grow professionally through personalized mentoring, coaching, and career development support.
- Project-driven Experience: Kickstart your career with hands-on learning experience, making an impact from day one by contributing to meaningful projects that help the world run better. You'll have endless learning resources at your fingertips and gain future-ready skills from a variety of virtual, in-person, and hybrid learning sessions.
- Gain Visibility: Build relationships with leaders and peers across teams and functions. Showcase your ideas, skills, and creativity in a global, fast-paced environment. Open doors for future career opportunities within SAP and beyond.
