Product Engineer (Working Student)About Sanvivo
Sanvivo is a Munich-based software and AI startup backed by Y Combinator (W23) and Heal Capital. We build software that digitalizes pharmacy operations — automating paperwork, workflows, and operational processes for pharmacies and doctors, with a particular focus on the medical cannabis space.
We are an AI-native company serving 100,000+ customers, with integrations across e-commerce, telemedicine, payments, and delivery. Our partners include DHL, Uber, Go-Express, and leading medical-cannabis telemedicine providers in Germany.
About the role
We are looking for a Product Engineer (Working Student) to work directly with the founding team and help us build and improve the product.
This is a high-agency role. You will not be working from a backlog of narrowly defined tickets. Instead, you will take ownership of problems end to end: understand what users need, figure out the right solution, build it, ship it, and learn from what happens in production.
You will work across the stack and use modern AI-native development tools to move quickly. Some weeks that might mean building a new product feature; others might involve improving an existing workflow, integrating an external API, fixing a reliability issue, or prototyping an AI-powered solution.
Success in this role means becoming someone the team can give a problem to and trust to figure out what needs to be done and get it into production.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship product features across our web and app frontends and backend services
- Work across TypeScript/JavaScript and Python, depending on the problem
- Take features from initial idea and requirements through implementation, deployment, and iteration
- Work directly with founders and users to understand problems and turn them into simple, useful solutions
- Prototype rapidly using AI-native development tools and turn successful prototypes into maintainable production code
- Build and integrate APIs and third-party services across our pharmacy, telemedicine, payment, and logistics ecosystem
- Improve reliability, performance, monitoring, and developer experience as the product grows
- Use production data and user feedback to identify what should be improved next
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at a university and able to work around 20 hours/week, with flexibility around lectures and exams
- Strong programming fundamentals and experience building real software
- Comfortable with Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js
- You have built something outside of coursework — a startup, side project, open-source project, app, or similar
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and making decisions without having every detail specified
- Strong bias toward shipping and learning from real users
- Interested in using AI/LLM tools as part of your development workflow
- German at B2 level or above; our team works mostly German
Nice to have
- Experience with React, FastAPI, Docker, PostgreSQL, or cloud platforms
- Experience building or integrating AI/LLM applications
- Previous startup experience
- Experience taking a project from idea to production
What we offer
- Real ownership from day one and direct collaboration with the founding team
- The opportunity to ship software used by 100,000+ customers
- Exposure to product, engineering, AI, and business — not just implementation
- A fast-moving startup environment where good ideas can go from prototype to production quickly
- Flexible working hours around your studies
- Hybrid work from our office at Munich Urban Colab
- Competitive working-student compensation
- A path to taking on more responsibility as you grow with the company
How to apply
Apply directly through LinkedIn. Please include your CV and, if available, a link to your GitHub or portfolio. Please also indicate your availability and earliest possible start date.
We care more about what you have built and how you think than about having the perfect academic background. If you are a student who likes building things, figuring out ambiguous problems, and seeing your work used by real people, we would like to hear from you.
