Position Summary

As a Working Student for our Application Engineering team at Samsung, you will play a role in troubleshooting, debugging, and navigating complex software systems. You will support the team of Field Application Engineers which is responsible for customer technical support of ongoing projects.

The ideal candidate is a skilled student with a software engineering background and interest in software development, problem-solving, and automotive systems.

System LSI is a division within Samsung Semiconductors Europe dedicated to enhancing cars with cutting-edge infotainment systems and sensors to ensure safe driving.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Support: assist in deploying software and provide ongoing support to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to software and hardware components.
  • Coding and Debugging: navigate complex software systems and work in un-familiar software.
  • Prototyping: develop software prototypes quickly to validate and demonstrate concepts and reproduce problems.
  • Testing: setup, support and maintain SW and lab infrastructure used for performance analysis, testing, and debugging.


Skills And Qualifications

Must haves:

  • Currently enrolled in full-time studies (Master's degree level) Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or similar
  • Experience and interest in software development, with proficiency in languages such as C, C++, Python, C# or others.
  • Good knowledge of Version control systems (i.e. git, repo) using the command line.
  • Comfortable exploring new technologies and tools to enhance your skills and improve your work.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Knowledge of Linux systems as a user and as a developer.


Additional nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with Android application development.
  • Experience with OpenGL ES / Vulkan
  • Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies, etc).
  • Experience with Linux kernel.
  • Experience with Android Open-Source Project.
