Description provided by Planet A Foods

Do you want to make a delicious difference?

Planet A Foods is for those who want to build something extraordinary with tangible purpose.

We’re reinventing how the world makes food ingredients, such as chocolate, replacing scarce, unsustainable raw materials with scalable, clean, and delicious alternatives.

We are united by impact, driven by innovation, and energized by the mission of building a food system that serves both people and the planet. Working here means choosing meaningful challenges over easy wins. You’ll join an entrepreneurial, international team of scientists, engineers, operators, and industry experts who are deeply committed to creating real planetary impact.

If you are looking for shaping your career in product development while making a tangible impact on the food industry, Planet A Foods is the right place for you. As a Food Scientist Intern, you'll contribute to enhancing the overall sensory including aroma and flavor in our ChoViva and a new innovative ingredient under development, while assisting with ingredient preparation and prototype development.

Next opening: September 2026

A Taste of What to Expect

  • You will support in recipe, product and/or flavor development of the current ChoViva products or a new ingredient currently under development
  • Plan and carry our test productions, including raw material preparation
  • Conduct food science analyses using tools such as rheometers, texture analyzers, refractometers and sensory evaluation methods
  • Assist in flavor analytics using GC-MS where applicable
  • Document new recipes and create product prototypes in collaboration with the Sales team
  • Assist with daily operational tasks, including packing and shipping prototypes to clients

The Perfect Recipe Of Skills & Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or similar field
  • Ideally, you have some initial experience in the food sector
  • You have a passion for sustainable food and working hand in hand with other ambitious people on something meaningful
  • You are enthusiastic about food science and product development and willing to learn food science related analytical methods
  • You are self-disciplined, hands-on, pro-active and ready to take ownership

This internship opportunity must be linked to a mandatory internship through a university and should last 6 months. We don't accept thesis projects.

A Sweet Package

  • Make a visible, global impact on brand recognition and the future of sustainable food
  • Collaborate with a passionate international team working at the edge of what's possible
  • Work in one of the rare food startups that truly scales and operates a 24/7 4-shift production system
  • A position where you can shape how a trillion-dollar industry communicates
  • Stuff that other startups do as well (30 days vacation per year, tasty lunches, snacks, drinks, vouchers, gym...)
  • PLUS: Chocolate. Every. Single. Day.
