Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in one or more of the following areas: Classical DSP or ML-based algorithms for audio signal processing (audio bandwidth extension, speech enhancement, echo cancellation, source localization, speaker recognition, etc.)
- Design and implement experiments to test new hypotheses and validate research findings.
- Develop and optimise algorithms and models for various applications.
- Collaborate with team members to integrate research outcomes into practical solutions.
- Present research findings to the team and contribute to publications and patents.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in audio signal processing, acoustics, machine learning, or a related field, with research experience in areas such as speech enhancement, audio bandwidth extension, speaker recognition, source localization, or related audio technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge or research experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Classical signal processing theory and algorithms, such as adaptive filtering, detection, or estimation.
- Machine learning or AI approaches applied to audio signal processing.
- Microphone and/or array signal processing.
- Multimodal signal processing, such as audio-visual processing.Numerical linear algebra.
- Development, evaluation, or implementation of signal processing or machine learning algorithms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to clearly communicate previous research or technical work, including the problem addressed, its significance, and the approach taken.
- Experience working on open-ended research problems and identifying appropriate technical approaches where requirements or solutions may not be fully defined.
- Experience developing, training, or evaluating neural network architectures for audio or audio-visual applications, such as speech enhancement, speaker recognition, echo cancellation, source localization, audio-visual speaker diarization, or active speaker detection.
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB.
This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
