Intern in Business Development (4–6 months, Mandatory Internship)

We are a young, dynamic e-commerce startup based in Berlin, specializing in the sale of sleep products, esp. slatted frames and mattresses. Founded 3 years ago, we have successfully expanded to over 17 marketplaces across 8 countries. Our mission is to provide high-quality sleep products that ensure the perfect night's rest for our customers.

Role Overview:

As a Business Development Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in managing and scaling our online marketplace accounts. Working closely with our experienced team and management, you will assist with product creation, optimization, marketing strategies, and visibility analyses. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of independent projects, perform market and keyword analyses, and help us expand into new marketplaces and international markets.

This internship is designed for a minimum duration of 4 months, with the opportunity to transition into a Working Student (Werkstudent) role upon successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Marketplace Operations: Assist in managing accounts on our online marketplaces, including product creation, listing optimization, and visibility analyses.
• Marketing & Keyword Optimization: Conduct keyword research, support marketing campaigns, and optimize listings to improve search rankings and conversion rates.
• Project Ownership: Initiate and drive smaller independent projects under guidance (e.g., exploring new channels/marketplaces, shop improvements, new product launches).
• Reporting & Analysis: Support the creation and evaluation of KPI reports to track business performance.
• Market & Competitor Research: Analyze competitive landscapes, market trends, and international expansion opportunities.
• Cross-Functional Support: Provide operational support to other key business areas as needed.

Requirements:

• Current Student Status: You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, E-Commerce, or a related field.
• Availability: You are available for an internship for a minimum of 4 months (compulsory internship).
• Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
• Tools: Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel. Knowledge of Python, VBA, and/or SQL is a big plus.
• Attributes: High motivation, reliability, proactive mindset, and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Languages: Good command of English; proficiency in German, French, or other languages is an advantage.
• Bonus: Initial experience or passion for E-Commerce / Business Development is a plus.
