About Carbon Equity

Carbon Equity is a pioneering climate tech venture capital and private equity fund investment platform. Our mission is to unlock private capital at the scale of billions to address the world's greatest challenges, starting with climate change. We reshape the investment landscape by enabling individuals to invest in ventures that drive positive change while generating attractive financial returns. Our focus includes technologies like alternative proteins, carbon-neutral cement and steel, green hydrogen production, and carbon capture — all contributing to a net-zero future.

Role Overview

We are looking for a commercially-driven, entrepreneurial intern to support the rollout of Carbon Equity's go-to-market strategy in Germany. As GTM & Investor Growth Intern, you will work closely with the Country Manager to execute high-impact sales, marketing, and operational initiatives — increasingly powered by AI and modern GTM tooling — that help us reach and convert new investors.

A core part of this role is building. You won't just run processes — you'll design and improve them. That means building outbound workflows, automating repetitive tasks, and making our event operations sharper and more scalable. Our current intern has shown us that with the right mindset and the right tools, one person can operate at the output of three. We're looking for someone who wants to do the same.

Note: This is not an investment-focused role. The emphasis is on commercial execution, workflow building, and go-to-market operations. Applicants looking for an investment analysis internship should not apply.

What You'll Do

  • Outbound & Sales Execution
  • Source, qualify, and manage leads through structured outreach campaigns
  • Own specific parts of the sales funnel with growing autonomy, from first contact to follow-up
  • Conduct outreach across channels, maintain momentum with investor prospects, and track outcomes rigorously in our CRM
  • AI-Powered Workflow Building This is where the role gets distinctive. We use AI tools actively — not as a novelty, but as genuine operational infrastructure. You will:
  • Build and refine AI-powered workflows that streamline outbound, research, and CRM operations
  • Leverage modern AI and GTM tools to scale lead generation and qualification beyond what manual work allows
  • Continuously identify operational friction and turn repetitive tasks into automated systems
  • Document and improve the workflows you build so the team can run and evolve them independently

No prior experience with specific tools required — you'll pick them up fast. What matters is the instinct to reach for automation and the discipline to build things that actually work.

  • Event Operations Support Events are a core part of our Germany GTM. You'll support the full event lifecycle:
  • Coordinate logistics for investor dinners, roundtables, and webinars — guest communications, venue, run-of-show
  • Build and maintain operational workflows for recurring event formats so each one runs better than the last
  • Support pre- and post-event follow-up processes, including CRM updates and outreach sequences
  • Help track event performance and feed learnings back into future planning
  • CRM & Commercial Operations
  • Maintain accurate, actionable data in our CRM (HubSpot), ensuring clean records and clear pipeline visibility
  • Prepare commercial documents including pitch decks, one-pagers, and outreach templates
  • Support reporting and pipeline reviews with structured input and data hygiene
  • Research & Strategic Support
  • Conduct targeted market and investor research to support German expansion
  • Provide input on GTM tactics based on lead behavior, event outcomes, and market feedback
  • Support ad-hoc operational and strategic projects as needed

Who You Are

Commercial Mindset

You're motivated by targets, energized by outreach, and love building commercial relationships. You're not afraid to pick up the phone, send a cold email, or push for a meeting.

Builder Mindset

You're curious about AI tools and automation — and excited to use them to make sales smarter, not just faster. You don't just complete tasks; you ask "how could this be automated next time?" You treat every repetitive workflow as a design problem waiting to be solved.

Sharp & Structured Thinker

You bring clarity and structure to ambiguous problems. You have strong research skills and can synthesize insights that inform commercial strategy.

Professional & Proactive Operator

You take ownership of your work and go beyond the minimum. You manage your time independently and thrive in a fast-paced, high-trust team.

Mission-Driven

You believe in the urgency of climate action and want to make a real-world impact. You're excited by the intersection of sustainability, finance, and technology.

Ideal Background

  • Final-year bachelor's student or master's student (business, economics, or related fields)
  • Prior experience in sales, startup environments, VC-backed companies, or commercial strategy is a plus
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken) is required
  • Comfort — or strong curiosity — with AI tools and a tinkerer mindset for automating workflows is a strong plus
  • Available full-time for at least 5 months, ideally starting as soon as possible

What You'll Get

  • A steep learning curve and end-to-end exposure to commercial execution in a climate fintech scale-up
  • Direct mentorship from the Country Manager and collaboration with a high-caliber team
  • Hands-on experience building AI-powered workflows that actually ship and get used
  • Exposure to our international team in Amsterdam
  • A front-row seat to building the future of climate investing in Germany
  • A fun, supportive, and values-driven company culture (Yes we can! fix climate change)

If you are eager to take on a diverse set of responsibilities, help shape the future of Carbon Equity in Germany, and make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply — even if you don't meet all qualifications.

This position is also available as full time junior role. Please refer to the Job description “Investor Relations Associate - International”
