Your mission
- Design and build report templates in Jaspersoft Studio, working on real, production reports for clients in private equity and private capital
- Work side-by-side with Jasper Report Engineers on daily reporting challenges, gaining hands-on experience with the full report development lifecycle
- Translate business requirements from the Reporting Team into technical tasks, bridging the gap between what stakeholders need and what engineers build
- Develop a sharp eye for data quality by tracing report output back to source SQL queries and documenting your findings
- Contribute to a shared codebase of report templates using Git, with real version control on a living, actively used product
- Build how-to guides, reusable template snippets, and documentation
- Get broad exposure through team meetings, cross-team sessions, and technical training covering BI tooling, reporting architecture, and agile team practices
Your profile
- Minimum 6-month commitment;
- Organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn
- Team player with analytical thinking and a tech-savvy mindset
- Good English skills
Beneficial - you don't need all of these, but the more you bring, the faster you'll hit the ground running
- Intermediate SQL knowledge (JOINs, aggregations, subqueries, aliasing)
- Basic XML knowledge (Jaspersoft report templates are XML-based)
- Basic programming knowledge, preferably Java or Groovy
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, cross-checking)
- Basic Git / version control knowledge
Nice to have
- Exposure to Jaspersoft Studio or comparable BI/reporting tools (BIRT, Crystal Reports, Power BI)
- Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS product environments
- Experience or coursework in the financial industry, particularly private equity or private capital
